Dental Implantology

It is the use of artificial roots made of pure titanium metal to replace the missing natural tooth. It is implemented under local anesthesia, as dental implants are more similar to natural teeth.

Implant body: It is the part implanted in the jaw, and it is made of titanium which is completely safe and fast to adhere to the jaw bone, and is considered the replacing part of the missing tooth root. Its diameter and length vary depending on the location and size of the missing tooth and the number of implants next to it.

Shutter Pin: placed over the implant body after the completion of the implant stage.

Healing Cover: It is a temporary cover placed over the implant body and the shutter pin, and it shall remain until the new tooth is fixed.

Prosthetic part: It is the new tooth that is fixed and attached to the implant body

Dental implants are carried out in several stages, namely:

Surgical stage: done by inserting implants made of pure titanium metal in the jaw bone into the place of the missing tooth under local anesthesia.

Bone fusion stage: the jawbone is fused with the implant. This stage takes about six to eight weeks. There are some implant systems that allow immediate replacement after implants.

Final replacement stage over the implant: where the mouth and implants prints are taken traditionally or by modern computers (CAD CAM) to be sent to the dental laboratory that manufactures the appropriate replacement for the case

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening can be done inside the clinic by applying the whitening gel to the teeth after isolating the gums under the supervision of the dentist and during one session that lasts about an hour. It is also possible to whiten teeth at home after the dentist prepares special molds for the patient’s teeth so that the patient whitens his teeth at home after following the instructions, and this process lasts for a period of approximately 7-10 days

Teeth whitening effect depends on the person’s care for his teeth and on the daily routines of drinking coffee, tea and smoking, which differ from one person to another. On the whole, teeth whitening effect lasts for about a year with the need for periodic follow-up with the dentist and maintaining oral health

Teeth whitening is completely safe and does not cause any harm to the teeth and it does not remove any layer of them.

Teeth whitening is useful in improving the color of the teeth and thus beautifying the smile, but it does not change the shape of the teeth, their tilt or their relationship with the neighboring and opposite teeth

Minor tooth sensitivity can occur after the whitening process, but it is very simple and does not last for more than two days, and it can be treated with toothpastes for sensitive teeth

There are no confirmed studies that prevent teeth whitening during pregnancy or breastfeeding, but it is recommended to postpone whitening during this period

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is one of the important methods that treat defects of occlusal teeth caused by tooth irregularity or malocclusion of the upper and lower jaws. Orthodontics is one of the treatment options that aim to improve the appearance of the teeth and their functional performance by moving or adjusting their straight. It also distributes the pressure generated by teeth occlusal to all teeth, which in turn improves the general health of the teeth, gums, and jaw joints

Here are the most common dental problems that require orthodontic treatment:

Anterior upper teeth protrusion: one of the most common causes of orthodontic treatment.

Teeth crowding: People with a narrow jaw do not have enough space for the teeth, which leads to their crowding together.

Impacted or unerupted teeth: Some teeth may not appear in adults due to their growth in a location other than their original location.

Asymmetric teeth: This is represented by the malocclusion of the center of the upper and lower teeth, and this makes the teeth appear asymmetric.

Deep occlusion: It occurs when the lower teeth are covered with a large percentage of the upper teeth.

Reverse occlusal: It occurs when the upper teeth are closed inward more than the lower teeth.

Open occlusal: It occurs when the anterior upper teeth are not closed to the lower teeth when the mouth is closed.

There are other health problems, such as the need for braces as part of treatment for cleft lip and palate
